Job Details - This position delegates responsibility to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides.
- Activities of this position are patient focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures.
- Evaluates the patient's function by performing formal/informal testing measures to determine the skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, developmental, social, and cognitive functions.
- Develops a goal specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient's tolerance to carry-out the treatment plan as prescribed.
- Submits a written treatment regime to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized by and coordinated with the physician.
- Updates plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status.
- Co-signs verbal orders received by occupational therapist assistant as necessary.
- Devises a schedule of treatment, which is frequency and duration specific to be discussed with patient/family/caregiver and coordinated with clinical support staff.
- Educates patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through forms of rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions.
- Provides supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per affiliate and regulatory standards.

- General OT - no specific specialty (need to see pediatric and general population)
- Ortho, Neuro, Peds Experience - Required
- Work History
- Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty
- 2 Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years
- Licensure (MI LARA) & Certifications (BLS - AHA)
- Candidates' Permanent Address (Facility will not consider local candidates - 50 mile radius restriction)
Schedule Information - ALL SCHEDULING REQUESTS MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION (Facility will NOT approve scheduling requests at/after time of offer)

Unit Specific Information - Mostly Outpatient w/ Acute Care
Additional Details - MyMichigan Home Care provides home health care services to assist homebound patients in regaining independence and maintaining the highest level of function following an illness or during recovery from surgery.
- Dress Code: Uniform or dress/casual clothes no jeans
- Coverage Area: 6 counties, typically one county per OT
- Mileage: IRS Standard
- Mileage per day: 25-100
