Occupational Therapist - Acute & Outpatient Care
Location: Syracuse, NY
Facility: SUNY Upstate University Hospital - Downtown Campus
Setting: Inpatient (Acute Care) & Outpatient
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with one weekend/month
Pay: $3,285/week
Position Overview:
Join the highly respected rehabilitation team at SUNY Upstate University Hospital. As an Occupational Therapist serving both inpatient (acute care) and outpatient settings, you'll play a key role in restoring function and improving the quality of life for diverse patient populations. This role offers a blend of challenging caseloads, multidisciplinary collaboration, and ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Administer physician-prescribed Occupational Therapy to both acute care (inpatient) and outpatient populations with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses.
- Perform thorough patient evaluations, determine specific goals, and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, attending rounds, clinics, and team conferences to provide updates on patient status.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including treatment records, reports, and billing information.
- Educate patients and families to promote independence, safety, and optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
- Uphold equipment maintenance and infection control standards.
- Participate in staff educational programs and contribute to a positive, learning-focused environment.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- New York State OT license or eligibility.
- Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in both acute care (inpatient) and outpatient settings.
- Ability to pass pre-employment health clearance.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; patient and family-centered mindset.

Adex Job ID Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
