Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Telemetry RN
- Cardiac drip experience required (common: set-rate diltiazem, amiodarone - no titration, no epi or nitro)
- NIH Stroke Assessment
- Post-cath recovery and chest tube experience
- Familiarity with TR bands and FemStops (not required to pull sheaths)

Beds: 27 (expanding to 37 in June 2024)
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Common Diagnoses
- CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, Stroke
- Sepsis, Diabetes, CAD
- Renal Failure, Respiratory Failure
- Pneumothorax
- Post-cath lab patients
Monitoring & Equipment
- Tele/Monitor Techs on unit until June; transitioning to centralized monitoring
- RNs read and interpret telemetry, document every 6 hours
- Current monitors: SpaceLab (transitioning to Philips)
- Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen (managed by RT)
Staffing Support
- Charge Nurse and House Supervisor on shift (non-assigned)
- Nurse Aides with 1:8-9 ratio
Shifts & Scheduling
- 12-hour shifts: or
- No block scheduling; traveler shifts based on facility needs
- Schedule trades allowed with peer approval
Weekend & Holiday Requirements
- Travelers expected to cover as needed
Call & Standby
- No call or standby requirements
Floating Policy
- May float to similar units or Med/Surg within facility
- May float to Boise Medical Center or Nampa Medical Center (like units or Med/Surg)
- ICU float possible if experienced
Scrub Policy
- Any color; must be clean, professional, and well-maintained
Orientation
- System onboarding + 2 unit orientation shifts
