Job Title: Travel RN - Progressive Critical Care - Days (13 Week Assignment) Location: Albany Medical Center, Albany, NY Position Type: Travel Nurse Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) Duration: 13 weeks Specialty: Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) Required Experience: 2+ Years in Progressive Critical Care Compensation and Benefits:
• Weekly Gross: $2,540.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,820.00 Per Week Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU) at Albany Medical Center for a 13-week assignment. Nurses in this unit care for patients experiencing severe medical conditions and complications, including respiratory failure, sepsis, head injuries, multi-system organ failure, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide advanced nursing care to patients in a high-acuity, progressive critical care setting.
• Monitor and manage hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Administer and manage drips, such as antihypertensive, sedative, narcotic, and thrombo-embolic medications.
• Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation (HFNC, BiPap, C-PAP).
• Perform advanced nursing skills including CVP monitoring, arterial line insertion, and management of EVDs.
• Apply infection prevention protocols and adhere to strict safety standards.
• Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient care in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort by monitoring and assessing vital signs and adjusting care as necessary. Position Requirements:
• Epic experience required.
• Must have strong experience in a Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU) or ICU setting, preferably in a community hospital ICU.
• Proficient in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, including the use of pressors and managing various infusions (sedatives, anti-hypertensive, narcan drips, etc.).
• Experience with complex trauma cases, multi-system organ dysfunction, and surgical complications.
• ACLS certification required.
• 2+ years of experience in a high-acuity PCU/ICU environment.
• Ability to provide care for a patient load of 3 high-acuity patients.
• Must be able to float to other units if required.
• Flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
