Start Date: ASAP AUTO OFFER Job Overview We are seeking an experienced LDRP RN with full-spectrum perinatal expertise to join a fast-paced unit that provides care from labor and delivery to postpartum and newborn support. This position is ideal for highly skilled nurses who can thrive in an environment where patients may require stabilization and transfer, particularly those receiving magnesium sulfate therapy or other advanced maternal care. Facility Highlights
• ️ Unit Type: LDRP with 17 rooms (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Population Served: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Staffing Ratios:
• Laboring patients: 1:1
• Mother-Baby & Postpartum: 1:3
• Triage: Per AWHONN guidelines
• Special Nursery: Level I nursery with stabilization and transfer protocols
• Support Services: Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Work, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Unit Secretary Job Requirements
• Minimum Experience: 2 years in L&D/LDRP
• ️ Travel RN Experience: Required
• EMR: Epic required (HARD STOP if no experience)
• ️ Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
• First-Time Travelers: Must be clinically screened if facility delivers
• Pre-approved Time Off: 1 request allowed
• Orientation: 36 hours Certifications Required
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• NRP
• Michigan RN License - must be active
• Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (within last 2 years) Preferred Certifications:
• AWHONN Advanced & Intermediate
• Advanced EFM
• Any experience with specialized newborn procedures or critical L&D scenarios Skills & Competencies Preferred or strongly recommended skills include: Labor & Delivery/Procedures:
• Circulate and Scrub for C-Sections
• Vaginal and High-Risk Deliveries
• Amnioinfusion, Hemorrhage/Shock, Cervical Cerclage, D&C
• Use of IUPC, FSE, fetal monitoring Postpartum & Newborn Care:
• Baby-friendly protocols
• Breastfeeding/lactation support
• Couplet care, newborn assessment, discharge education
• Neonatal Resuscitation, Thermoregulation, NAS care Critical/IV Skills:
• IV starts, PICC/Central Line maintenance
• Infusion pumps/drips, blood products
• Cardiac/Telemetry Monitoring, Rapid Response involvement Medication Administration:
• Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Insulin drips
• Anticonvulsants, Anticoagulants, Antihypertensives
• Pain management including PCA, opioids, epidurals Professional Competency:
• PPE/isolation protocols
• Vaccine administration
• Emergency neonatal and maternal stabilization
• EPIC EMR proficiency (required) Scheduling & Contract Notes
• Weekend Coverage: Every other (Friday-Sunday)
• Block Schedule: Not offered
