Certification Details - BLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred for this specialty)
Job Details - Travel rate is available for local travelers if their start date is on or before 12/16.
- RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
- Target Ratios: 1:6-7 (Must be comfortable with these ratios) Shift: 12HR NIGHTS. 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours.
- Contract Length: Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays.
- Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
- Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
Job Requirements - Minimum Years of Experience: Required 2 year of experience required in last 5 years
- Traveler Experience: Accepts 1st time travelers

- Skills: Must have the ability to handle heparin drips, PCA, Colostomy Care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, Management of dysrhythmias, O2 Protocol Management, Non-invasive airway management, Peripheral line care/management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Traumatic Brain injury, ortho trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes- Emerson/Pleuravac, Nasal Cannula, Oral Suctioning, Tracheostomy Management, Wound care.
- Epic documentation experience required.
Schedule Information - Shift: 12HR NIGHTS. 36 or 48 hours accepted.
- If 48 hours, then no OT billed until after 48 hours.
- Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
- Weekend Requirement: Traveler will be assigned to every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be able to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
- RTO: 7 days MAX
Unit Specific Information - Patient Diagnoses: Severe injuries to bones, joints, soft tissue, traumatic brain injuries, spine injuries, pain, neurological trauma/nerve damage, and subdural hematoma.
- Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
- SCRUBS: Navy
Additional Details - Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during events.
- Unit Orientation: 12-hour unit orientation, 16-hour organizational education.
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
