    Job Details
  • Hospital in Idaho is looking for an ER nurse to start ASAP for 13 weeks.
    Job Requirements
  • Must have 1 year of ER experience
  • Must have some trauma experience (MVAs, GSWs, Stabbings, etc.)
  • Must have Triage experience
  • Prefer: Trauma Bay experience
  • Prefer: Epic Experience- please call out if they do not have any
  • No first time travelers - must have 2-3 travel assignments successfully completed
    Schedule Information
  • Mid Shifts: 1P- 1:30A, 2P- 2:30A, 4P-4:30A, 6P-6:30A
  • First few week travelers will be asked to fill in the gaps; after that will be asked what their availability; scheduler may utilize a template for scheduling but asked to fill gaps in the perm schedule
  • Template scheduling often allows 5 days off in a row every 3-4 weeks
  • EOW, typically a little less if utilizing the template
  • May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation
  • Could be asked to go on Call, callback pay available, if needed.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit: ER/ED
  • Common drips: Must be able to titrate all critical gtts and procedural sedation for adults and pediatrics. Also important to understand drips that require filter tubing and management of blood products/components via rapid infuser.
    Additional Details
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
  • Level 3 Trauma, STEMI and Stroke Receiving
  • Highly organized team with focus toward high reliability, customer service, and zero harm.
  • Expectations toward these measures are assisted with leader representation sharing examples and improvement opportunities.
  • Avg wait time for patient is 90 mins from admission order to transfer for inpatient; at a max 4-8 hours for hold patients; typically Peds and Psych patients Will admit Peds patient as they have 10 bed inpatient unit, but if higher acuity will be transferred out.
  • 2 designated 'safer' rooms, but can see them throughout the ER if needed
  • 24/7 located in the ER
  • On average, how many patients do you treat in the ER/day? 109 per day
  • Nurse: Patient Ratios 1:04, Staffing Goal: Designated zones (8 rooms) to have 3 RNs and 1 CNA per zone
  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Abd pain, DM, HTN, STEMIs, NSTEMIs, Stroke, Prioritized traumas, and more.
