Job Description

  • MS/Tele Respiratory Unit:
    • Our Medical Respiratory Unit is a 42-bed unit primarily specializing in the care of acute and chronic respiratory conditions. Nurses have a 1:6 ratio and provide care to predominately respiratory patients requiring treatment for pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, or other various lung diseases. In addition, this unit will further provide care to a variety of medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke and surgical patients. Patients in this area benefit from daily rounds with the entire interdisciplinary team. Additionally, this unit houses an 8-bed respiratory step-down unit with a 1:4 nursing ratio

  • MS/TELE Trauma Unit:
    • Trauma Surgical Unit is primarily home to our acute care trauma and surgical patient population. Nurses in this area have a 1:6 ratio and specialize in an interdisciplinary team approach to each patient's specific needs. This unit's staff are experts in trauma but also ortho and urology patients as this unit will provide care to this population as well. This unit values collaboration with family practice physicians, hospitalists, as well as a variety of surgical specialists while proudly providing individualized attention to all patients who are hospitalized for illness, surgery, or testing and observation

  • MS/Tele Stroke Unit:
    • Our Heart Failure / Stroke Unit is a 42-bed unit dedicated to our patients diagnosed with both neurological and cardiac conditions, such as congestive heart failure or acute stroke. This area is a 1:6 ratio staffed with a group of highly skilled nurses trained to work with these specific diagnoses. This team takes pride in being experts at managing complex neuro-cardiac conditions with precision and compassion while working alongside the cardiologists and neurologists to ensure we maintain the best practice standards of care for this specific patient population

  • MS/Tele Pulmonary:
    • Our Pulmonary Unit is 36-bed telemetry unit directed towards diagnosing and treating a wide range of patients with respiratory disorders. Nurses in this area have a 1:6 ratio and value the delivery of high-quality, specialized care for patients and their families suffering from a variety of lung diseases or injuries. This unit takes pride in the collaborative relationships with departments such as respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management and pharmacy. This specialty requires a foundation of knowledge in general medicine as well as expertise in respiratory skills.

ACTIVE BLS (AHA or ARC) (HWS Can Provide ARC for free)

Float Cost Center: Must be willing to float to units/hospitals
