We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join the team at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. This facility handles a high volume of deliveries, with a focus on high-risk pregnancies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing high-risk laboring moms, ante-partum patients, and circulating during C-sections. The hospital provides care for a diverse patient population, including those with COVID-19.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage high-risk laboring mothers: Provide care for women in labor, including those with complex medical conditions, and administer epidurals as needed.
- Circulate during C-sections: Assist in the operating room during cesarean sections, ensuring a smooth procedure and patient safety.
- Monitor fetal well-being: Use fetal monitoring to assess the health of the baby and make necessary adjustments to the care plan.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: Work closely with OB/GYNs, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal care for both mother and baby.
- Support high-risk ante-partum patients: Manage patients at risk for complications before and during labor, providing both physical and emotional support.
- Handle high-volume deliveries: Manage up to 400 deliveries per month, including high-risk cases, ensuring all protocols and procedures are followed.
- Patient education: Provide pre- and post-delivery education for patients and their families.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent high-risk L&D experience at facilities with 250+ deliveries/month.
- Fetal Monitoring Certification: Current Fetal Monitoring certification is highly preferred, or ability to provide verification of completion of Intermediate level fetal monitoring class.
- Certifications:
- Experience with EPIC is required.
- Comfort level with high-risk cases: Must be able to handle high-risk laboring moms, ante-partum, epidurals, and circulating during C-sections.
- Patient Population: Must be comfortable working with a diverse patient population, including COVID-19 patients.
- Testing: Must pass a medication exam and other OB-related tests during initial orientation to continue in the role.
Special Requirements:
- Must have the ability to work in a high-volume, high-risk Labor and Delivery environment.
- The traveler must be ready to handle various challenges and maintain patient safety and comfort under high-stress situations.
