Additional Info Please Read : CLINICAL INTERVIEW UNIT THIS CONTRACT REQUIRES STRONG CARDIAC EXPERIENCE General Information 20 OR Rooms 4 CVOR (10 CABG and 3 TAVR per week) 1 hybrid Endo/Vascular 12 Main General: General, Neuro, Ortho, Peds, ENT, trauma, Urology 3 Outpatient: Women, Minor ortho (fingers/toes) 2 Outpatient Peds: ENT and Dental (Closed for renovations) Experience: 1 year with strong OR experience Will accept first time traveler: If strong OR experience All CVOR RNs/ORTs are expected to float to General Surgery Patient Types Travelers are Expected to Care For: CVOR: CABG, TAVR, VAT, Open thoracotomy, Valve repairs, Vascular surgeries (AV fistulas), fem pop bypass, AAA repair (open and endoscopic) General: Neuro (EVD placement, shunts), Ortho (total joints, ORIF), Trauma (GSW, MVA), Emergency General (appys, torsions), GYN, GI, GU Certifications: BLS Skills required: CST: Surgical techs scrub RN: Scrub or/and Circulate Night Shift: Neuro (Craniotomies), Ortho, heavy trauma (gunshot wounds, stabbings, motor vehicle crashes), and emergency general (appy, exploratory laparotomy, torsions, etc.), must be comfortable with blood administration (Belmont/Intraoperative blood salvage), assisting with arterial lines and wound vacs Day Shift: does not need to have all these experiences, preferred. Top 3 strengths: General Surgery Robotics, General, Ortho - not must have all three but these are busy service lines (followed by Trauma and Neuro) Robotic experience required Robotics: Gyn, General, urology. Robotics will be 12- hour shifts. Currently using XI machine. No Transplants, Burns, Adult Ophthalmology Peds not required, does not need to scrub Charting System: Epic Pyxis Alaris Scheduling: Schedule is 10 hour or 12-hour shifts Shift times: pm (10 hrs.) 0645 am-1915 (12 hrs.) Evening shift - (12 hrs.) (8 hrs.) Nights are blocked- when possible No on call for night shift positions RTO: Able to approve up to 5 days; Additional time off email: Nurse Manager Andrew Waldman Unable to meet scheduled hours, must be willing to add to the end of the assignment On Call: Main OR Travelers will do Trauma Call Traveler will be assigned to trauma call team unless strong CVOR or Pediatric skillset Response Time: 30 mins No designated sleep room (if need one, must talk with ANM ahead of time) Heart Call Team (CVOR): 1 shift a week and 1 weekend per 6-week schedule 1 nights a week (Mon-Thurs ) 1 weekend (Friday 1500 - Monday 0700) every 6-week schedule Pediatric Call Team: 1 shift a week and 1 weekend per 6-week schedule 1 night a week (Mon- Thurs ) 1 weekend (Friday 1700 - Monday 0700) Trauma Call Team: RN: approximately 3 shifts per 6-week schedule (any days) CST: 5 call shifts per 6-week schedule Either 0700 -1900 or Orientation: 1- 2 days of general hospital orientation One full shift on the unit Following General Site Orientation, an assessment will be done to find if a few additional position-specific orientation days are necessary Traveler Telemetry Competency Required Required to be completed and passed prior to start. SimpliFi Compliance is responsible for grading this exam. Other notes: Scrubs: Provided Soft Skills: Flexibility and teamwork most important.
