We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Operating Room (OR) for a Day Shift (5x8 hours) contract position in Redding, California. This 13-week assignment is ideal for a passionate OR nurse who excels in providing top-quality surgical care in a collaborative and fast-paced hospital setting.

Role Overview:
As a Surgical OR RN, you will be an integral member of the perioperative team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. You will be responsible for managing patient care before, during, and after surgeries while maintaining a sterile and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Operative and Intra-Operative Care:
- Prepare surgical suites with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment according to case needs.
- Assist in patient positioning, site preparation, and ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols.
- Circulate and scrub across a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, and ENT procedures.
Post-Operative Support:
- Monitor patient recovery in the immediate post-op phase and assist with safe transfers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of intraoperative care and patient responses.
- Communicate critical updates to the PACU and surgical teams to ensure seamless transitions of care.
Patient and Team Collaboration:
- Serve as an advocate for the patient's safety and well-being throughout surgical procedures.
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and surgical technologists to deliver coordinated care.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, sterilization standards, and hospital policies.
Critical Skills:
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond promptly during procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to function efficiently under pressure.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in high-acuity environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Active California RN License (no pending licenses accepted).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience.
- BLS certification (AHA) required.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- CNOR certification highly preferred.
- Experience circulating in multiple surgical specialties.
Additional Details:
- Ratios: 1:1 in the OR
- On-Call: May be required (details discussed during interview)
- Weekend Requirement: Possible weekends based on surgical volume
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Scheduling: No block scheduling available
- Local Candidates: Accepted
