General Information: Beds: 64 - spread across 2 floors Required experience? Intermediate/Stepdown Level RN: 1 year of nursing experience required Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes, if greater than 1 year of experience 1st time traveler MUST have EPIC experience Travelers must live 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler Patient Ratios: RN: PCU: 1:4 (even for MedSurg assignments) CNA: 1:8 Required Certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Required Education: RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Skills required: Intermediate/Stepdown RN: Comfortability to take MedSurg assignments - please decline if not Previous experience with our types of patients above, including IMC/stepdown acuity and Neuro Ability to read/interpret cardiac strips, chest tubes, trach care (no fresh traches), NGT tube placement and management, JP drains, line management - PICC/Midline/CVL/PIV placement, wound vacs (Wound Care RN will change out the vac but RN must know how to assess and will need to change to wet/dry dressing in case of malfunction), wound care/dressing changes, medication administration, TPN/tube feeding, blood product transfusions, urinary and fecal collection devices Drip titration of below medications: most commonly - Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Levophed (up to 5 mcg), occasionally esmolol drips (will train if traveler has not done these) or other Betablockers or other antihypertensives 431947
