Job Summary: The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of professional nursing care for patients receiving intravenous therapies, including but not limited to chemotherapy, immunotherapy, antibiotics, hydration, and other IV treatments. The RN ensures safe and effective administration, monitors patient response, and provides education and support.
Key Responsibilities: - Administer IV infusions per physician orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor and assess patients throughout their infusion treatments.
- Document all care provided and patient responses in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers.
- Educate patients and families on infusion therapy, possible side effects, and home care instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
- Adhere to infection control and medication safety protocols.
- Ensure proper setup, use, and maintenance of infusion pumps and equipment.
Qualifications: - Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted RN license in State .
- Certifications: BLS required; OCN or CRNI preferred.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in infusion, oncology, or ambulatory care preferred.
Skills & Abilities: - Proficient in IV placement, central line care, and infusion pump operation.
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
