NICE JOB COME SEE ME IN OMAHA Omaha, NE Job Specialty ICU Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles. RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated Department: Med Surg ICU RN Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - of Beds: 34 - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 ICU, 1:4 PCU - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults and Peds >15 years old, Neuro surgery (initiating neuro interventionalist with thrombectomy program) - not required exp., Respiratory failure, ARDS, MODS, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock (impella, balloon pump - not required exp.), renal failure (CRRT) - not required exp., general surgery, psych/OD, GI bleeds, cancer specific surgeries - esophagectomy, internal chemo administration, CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring- all can train real time, Zoll -Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, Bell Mont rapid transfuser - Are RNs required to titrate drips: Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, antiarrhythmics - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Yes- will attend RRTs and Codes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit Ratios Duties: Yes- 1:18 - RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot: Nasal cannula to vents - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit Are RNs required to read their own strips What brand are the tele monitors: No techs- Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry monitoring. RNs need to be able to read and interpret. Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling Block scheduling): , manager will make schedule based on unit needs - Weekend Requirements: Every other - Holiday Requirements: Every other or as needed for based on unit needs - Floating Requirements: Will float to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 2 shifts - Additional Notes: Fast paced unit with volume flexes due to being primary tertiary hospital for the system.
