Job Details - Assesses patients on admission within specified time frames considering physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs.
- Reassesses each patient's health needs whenever warranted by the patient's condition and at least every shift.
- Establishes a plan of care based on data from all appropriate sources.
- Reviews and updates the plan of care for each assigned patient utilizing data obtained from reassessments.
- Administers medications utilizing the 7 rights and assesses/document effectiveness/untoward effects.
- Performs treatments and procedures with consideration of common nursing practice, hospital policy, and patient privacy.
- Documents response to care and addresses pain management, discharge planning needs, and progress towards goals.
- Educates patient/family based on assessed needs and uses appropriate resources.
- Interprets or analyzes diagnostic data and reports, intervening appropriately.
- Communicates changes in patients' clinical condition to physicians and other health care team members promptly.
Job Requirements - ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- California RN License required.
- 5 years recent ICU RN experience in an acute care facility required.
- Conscious Sedation experience required.
Schedule Information - 2 - Noc shift
- Full-time registry position.
Unit Specific Information - Unit specializes in critical care nursing.
Additional Details - Must follow hospital infection control policies.
- Demonstrates knowledge of blood transfusion policy and documentation.
- Understands the Chain of Command and accesses it appropriately.
