Deaconess IL Medical Center - Neuro MS/TELE RN - 12hr NIGHTS From the manager: "If you have any travelers that have Step-Down level experience, we would be more than happy to educate them on Neuro care." Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: ASAP Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (quote is 48 hrs) Primary location: Deaconess IL Medical Center Shift Requirement: 12hr NIGHTS Float Requirement: Could float to the medical unit On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active IL RN license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med Surg/TELE, 1 travel assignment. Neuro experience required Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required. Patient Population: Neuro and Neuro-Surgical patients - CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiogram. General medical Skillset: Will also need to be comfortable taking medical overflow patients. NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong Neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I's & O's/straight cath/Foleys, intitate/titrate heparin gtts., blood/blood product administration/venipuncture/blood cultures, NG tubes, indwelling drain management, stable gtts. (i.e. Protonix, Lasic, etc.). Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills. Unit Information: 8 beds. Ratio: 1:4 Charge nurse will have patient assignment Additional Unit Information: New unit, initially will be a mixed unit with Neuro and Medical overflow. Construction being done on the second floor to accommodate a 22 bed neuro unit.
