Job Description: Registered Nurse - IMC (Progress Care South) at Providence Covenant Medical Center Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - IMC (Intermediate Care Unit) Client: Providence Health and Services - MSP Department: Progress Care South (IMC) Location: th St, Lubbock, TX 79410 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) (3x12 is also available but with less pay) Compensation and Benefits:
• Weekly Gross: $3,134.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $1,104.00 Per Week ($23/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,030.00 Per Week Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) at Providence Covenant Medical Center. The IMC unit provides care for patients requiring more intensive monitoring than typical medical-surgical units, but who do not need full ICU-level care. The RN will work in a dynamic setting, providing specialized nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care and patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care: Provide nursing care for patients with a range of medical conditions in the IMC, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
• Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients with various medical devices such as cardiac monitors, catheters, and ventilators. Ensure timely response to changes in patient conditions.
• Care Plan Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. Perform regular assessments and document patient progress.
• Escalation of Care: Recognize early signs of patient deterioration and escalate care needs as necessary.
• Collaboration: Work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations such as code blue or other rapid response events. Requirements:
• License: Valid RN license in the state of Texas (or compact license) must be in hand at the time of submission.
• Experience: At least one year of experience in a medical-surgical or step-down unit. IMC or ICU experience is highly preferred.
• Certifications: o Basic Life Support (BLS) o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Skills:
• Proficiency in patient monitoring equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, ventilators, etc.)
• Ability to perform critical care procedures (e.g., IV insertion, catheter care, etc.)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Floating: Must be willing to float between units within the hospital or to nearby facilities based on patient care needs.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend, approximately 6 shifts in 6 weeks.
• Block Scheduling: Not required, but flexible scheduling may be requested. Hospital Highlights:

• Trauma Center: Level II
• Department Dress Code: Solid navy blue scrubs (colored piping acceptable), no print tops except in specific units such as Pediatric and Women's Services.
• Parking: Free parking available in unrestricted spaces; please park in designated "Employee/Visitor Parking" lots. Scheduling and Compliance:
• Start Date: April 21, 2025
• End Date: July 19, 2025
• Shift Details: Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• On-Call: Not required.
• Weekend Requirements: Yes, required to work 6 shifts per 6 weeks.
• Floating: RN may be required to float between various units based on patient care needs. Refusal to float may result in assignment termination. Vaccination and Health Guidelines:
• COVID-19: COVID-19 vaccination is not required by the facility.
• Flu Vaccine: The requirement for the flu vaccine is unknown.
