We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery (L&D) for a Night Shift (3x12 hours) contract in Los Banos, California. This 13-week assignment offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled L&D nurse passionate about providing comprehensive maternity care in a supportive environment.

Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Floating: No floating to other units
Call Requirement: No on-call
Role Overview:
As an L&D RN, you will deliver expert care to women during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. You will also serve as a circulating nurse for cesarean sections, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of newborns while providing compassionate support to mothers and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum Care:
- Provide comprehensive care for laboring patients, manage fetal monitoring, administer medications, and offer labor support techniques.
- Deliver postpartum care to mothers and newborns, assisting with recovery, breastfeeding support, and newborn education.
- Manage antepartum patients requiring inpatient observation and intervention for high-risk conditions.
Surgical Circulator Duties:
- Assist the surgical team during C-sections, ensuring sterile techniques and smooth coordination.
- Prepare the operating room and support patient positioning and intraoperative care.
Patient Education and Support:
- Educate patients and families on postpartum care, infant care, and breastfeeding.
- Offer emotional support and reassurance throughout the birthing experience.
Clinical Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation using the facility's electronic health records system.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and best practices to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
- Active California RN License
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM
- Proficiency in fetal monitoring and circulating for C-sections
