Hospital in Central Nebraska needs a traveling med-surg RN with Ortho experience. Nurse will need to be experienced in general and Ortho. The position is for twelve hour nights and thirteen weeks in length.

Nurse will need to be experienced in general and Ortho. RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.
Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.
BLS - Certifications Required.

of Beds: 22- average daily census of 6.
Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, spines- back and neck.
Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No.
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, blood.
Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.
Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13.
Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret.
Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity.
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week.

RN's: OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
