Job Title: Registered Nurse - Psych Start Date: ASAP Length: 13 Weeks Schedule: 12 hours shifts (Nights) Setting: Psych Hospital Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse for a 13 week contract in Helena, MT. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health care and be skilled in providing comprehensive nursing services to patients with psychiatric conditions. Responsibilities include assigning work and providing direction and training to subordinate nursing personnel. Additionally, shift differential may available, and one meal is provided per shift. Responsibilities
• Conduct thorough assessments and triage of patients to determine their mental health needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and treatment goals.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring adherence to established standards.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients with developmental disabilities.
• Perform specialized procedures as needed, including catheterization, spinal taps, and botulinum toxin treatments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in pediatrics, family planning, and travel nursing. Qualifications
• Valid nursing license Montana RN License
• CPI Certification
• Experience in Geriatric Psych Nursing
• Experience with ID patients, Adult Psych, or Autism Spectrum patients.
• Strong clinical skills with knowledge of triage standards and mental health best practices.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals across the lifespan, including those with developmental disabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
