Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse with at least one year of clinical nursing experience to provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. The Oncology RN plays a vital role in administering chemotherapy, managing treatment side effects, providing emotional support, and coordinating care plans in collaboration with oncologists and the multidisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver safe and effective nursing care to oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other oncology treatments in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor patients for side effects and toxicities related to cancer treatments and intervene promptly.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, social workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated, holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient status, medication administration, and nursing interventions using the electronic health record (EHR).
- Follow safety guidelines for handling hazardous drugs and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide emotional support to patients and families throughout the cancer care journey.
Minimum Qualifications: - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (oncology or med-surg preferred)
- Current BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Strong clinical assessment and IV skills
