Working under the direction of the Clinical Care Supervisor and Director Oncology - Physicist, the RN II assesses, plans, implements and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care, reflective of CCH mission, vision, and values. The RN will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. This position coordinates and delegates unit and patient care activities, as appropriate, to other health care providers. The RN II Oncology RN practices within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association professional standards, National Patient Safety Goals, the Oncology Nursing Society, and Infusion Nursing Society Standards of Professional Practice.
Provides professional nursing care to assigned oncology patients. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications including chemotherapy, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Assists oncologists during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Observes patients' progress and records observations in patient medical records. Teaches patients and families about conditions and treatment options. May require ONS/ONCC certification to deliver chemotherapy. Requires a valid state RN license.
Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in an outpatient facility or clinic. Records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. May call in pharmacy refills. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires a valid state RN license.
Must have Medical Oncology experience, not Radiation Oncology. Must be able to administer chemotherapy. BLS
