Job Overview:
- Cape Fear Valley Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Travel Nurse to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who thrive in high-acuity environments and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
- Evaluate and monitor the patient's progress.
- Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition.
- Deliver regular updates to doctors, patients, and their family members.
- Begin treatment and monitor doses.
- If necessary, respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate doctors.
- Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in the ICU unit.
- Complete all necessary paperwork before transferring a patient.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all required)
- License: Active RN license required (No pending licenses accepted)
- First-Time Travelers: Preferred No - Manager may consider based on experience
- Float Requirement: Yes - must float within scope and to like units as needed
- On-call Requirement: No
- RTO (Requested Time Off): Subject to manager's discretion
- Block Scheduling: Open to consideration
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must reside outside 50-mile radius)
Additional Details:
- Policy: After 2 shift cancellations in a 13-week period, all contracted hours are guaranteed
- Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- System Contract Limit: Max of 2 contracts - must take a 6-month break before returning
