Requested Skill Set: Cardiac/telemetry experience, and PCU and/or critical care experience.
The PCU delivers highly individualized care to medical, cardiac, and surgical complex patients requiring intermediate care such as: Sepsis, stroke, myocardial infarction, angina, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, tachycardia, heart blocks, post cardiac catheterization, AKI, CKD, diabetes mellitus with ketoacidosis, CVA, acute and chronic respiratory failure, GI bleed, pneumonia, post-operative day one coronary artery bypass grafting, post-operative day one aortic valve surgery, post thoracic surgery, post neurosurgery, as well as other complex patients.
Advanced skills needed: IV insertion, chest tube management, DHT insertion/management, tracheostomy experience, CVC management, EKG, Foley management, early patient mobility
Procedures performed on unit: Foley placement, IV insertion, wound vac management, DKA management, EKGs, DHT/NG placement, patient ambulation, ADLs
Certifications Required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum of most recent 1 year of acute care experience in a hospital setting within the specific specialty - Appropriate Certifications as required for specific position - Every other weekend requirement - Commitment of 36 hours per week - Weekly direct deposit - Contracts, Per Diem and Blocked booking possible where available - Referral bonus up to $850 per person that goes to work. - 401K matching
