General Information: Beds: 26 ICU Experience? 2 years minimum in ICU First-time traveler? Yes Patient Types: Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, Interventional patients ICP monitoring, External Ventricular drain (EVD), spinal precautions, DKA, Multi system trauma patients, Sepsis, ARDS, COVID, PNA, COPD, Stroke Covid & PPE: Adequate PPE provided Patient Ratios: 1:2 - based on acuity (may get 3rd patient as one is being discharged or moved to the floor) Required Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Skills required: Please ask all travelers about charge experience and include in the offer info if they have/have not worked in a CRN capacity Neuro and Trauma experience are an absolute must - EVD & ICP monitoring Ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke experience, hemodynamic lines (A-lines/CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, strong assessment skills Support on the Unit: Charge nurse: Unassigned - may have patients in a critical staffing situation Resource Nurse/House Supervisor - 24/7 RT, in house 24/7 Hospitalist, in house 24/7 Intensivist, 24/7 for consult Trauma Surgery team will monitor their own patients PT/OT - Mon-Fri Charting System/Equipment: Cerner Alaris Pyxis Floating: To the Cardiac Care Unit (ICU) - will take patients within scope Cardiac Stepdown or Medical Stepdown PICU if they have Peds experience Orientation: General Hospital orientation, followed by 1 shift on unit Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other (Dayshift: Sat/Sun; Nightshift: Fri/Sat) Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? None Holiday Expectations: Varies, based on need - all holiday requests should be sent to manager for approval Approval of time off? To go through manager Other notes or things you want us to check/verify? Scrub Color: Any solid color, must be professional Parking: Free parking in designated areas
