Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (RN - PCU)

Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,480.00
- Non-Taxable Stipends: $1,400.00
- Taxable Wages: $1,080.00
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Travel RN - PCU to join a reputable healthcare team in Asheville, NC. This is a quick-fill travel role ideal for nurses with a strong background in acute care and telemetry, ready to provide compassionate and effective care in a progressive care setting.
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver patient-centered care to individuals in a PCU environment, including medical-surgical and step-down patients.
- Monitor patients with telemetry-all telemetry patients are hardwired to bedside monitors.
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Float to TCU (Transitional Care Unit) as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR.
Unit Information: - Unit Type: Inpatient overflow unit handling mixed acuity: Med-Surg and Step-Down
- Bed Count: 20
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Equipment: Bedside telemetry monitors for all telemetry-indicated patients
Requirements: - Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent experience in acute care PCU
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA
- NIH Stroke Certification - AHA
- Specialty Skills: Must have strong telemetry experience
- Licensure: Active North Carolina RN License or Compact RN License
