Compensation:
- Weekly Gross: $2,482.00 Per Week
- On W2(Taxable): $648.00 Per Week ($18/hour)
- Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,834.00 Per Week
Job Description:
The ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct and critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions at Norton Community Hospital, a Ballad Health facility. RNs in this role will function independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, using evidence-based practices and clinical judgment to assess, plan, and implement high-quality care for complex cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous nursing care and monitoring to critically ill adult patients
- Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using advanced interventions
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Use and monitor critical care equipment such as ventilators, pumps, and invasive lines
- Document all patient interactions accurately in EMR
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor to nursing students and support their clinical education
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Required Certifications:
- AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification - Preferred
Qualifications:
- Active RN License (Virginia or Compact) - Required at submission
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience is a plus
- Must be willing and able to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- BSN required for international travelers
