Job Description: RN - Trauma Nurse
Position Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma for travel assignments. The Trauma RN will provide rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization for critically injured patients in high-acuity emergency settings. This role requires quick decision-making, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment alongside a multidisciplinary trauma team.
Responsibilities
- Perform rapid triage and assessment of trauma patients.
- Provide immediate emergency care, including resuscitation and life-saving interventions.
- Administer IV fluids, blood products, and emergency medications.
- Assist in intubation, chest tube placement, and other emergency procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and patient responses to treatments.
- Collaborate with trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, and paramedics.
- Operate and manage emergency medical equipment.
- Document patient care and treatment plans accurately.
- Educate patients and families about post-trauma care and recovery.
- Participate in trauma drills and continuing education to maintain skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ER/Trauma nursing experience.
- Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (required)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of emergency protocols and trauma care.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and act quickly.
- Excellent critical thinking and teamwork skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, move, and respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Travel Readiness: Open to temporary travel assignments.
