Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift - 4x10-Hour Shifts (06:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Call Requirement: Yes

Weekend Coverage: Every 4th Weekend

Parking: Free


Compensation for 40 hours: $3,100 Per Week

  • Weekly Gross: $3,100.00 Per Week
  • On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week ($18/hour)
  • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,380.00 Per Week


Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CVOR Registered Nurse to join the surgical team at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced cardiovascular operating room and must have prior open heart surgery experience. Floating to other Prisma units/campuses may be required based on patient census and needs.


Key Job Duties:

  • Assist in all phases of cardiovascular surgical procedures, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care.
  • Monitor patient vitals and conditions throughout surgical procedures and ensure appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with the surgical team to maintain a safe and sterile operating environment.
  • Administer medications, manage surgical instruments and equipment, and respond to intraoperative emergencies.
  • Document all care and interventions accurately using EPIC EMR in compliance with hospital policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience.
  • Open heart surgery experience is required.
  • Current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or RN license valid in South Carolina.
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • 1-year minimum experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Travel experience is not required.

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Charting System:

  • EPIC EMR (minimum 1 year experience required).

Patient & Facility Information:

  • Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR).
  • Patient Age Groups: Adults and Geriatrics.
  • Unit Beds: 5.
  • Daily Census: Variable based on surgical schedule.
  • Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Radiology.
  • Special Equipment: CVOR-specific surgical instruments and technology.

Additional Notes:

  • Prisma Health requires agency staff to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where competencies are documented.
  • Local candidates accepted if living more than 50 miles from the facility.
  • Pending licenses are not accepted.

Travel Radius Rule: Must live 100+ miles from any Prisma facility.
