Shift: 6.45a-7.15p Days: 3x12 Hours: 36 Location: Maryville, CA Contract Weeks:91 Job Title: RN L&D Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM Schedule: 3x12 (36 hours per week) Contract Duration: 91 Weeks Location: Maryville, CA Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is a professional nurse responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The RN assumes responsibility and accountability for patient care, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. This position requires collaboration with the healthcare team, including physicians, midwives, and other nurses, to ensure that care is delivered in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The RN will coordinate care across the lifespan, from neonatal to geriatric patients, and ensure patient education, discharge planning, and advocacy throughout their stay. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Acute Care Experience: Preferred Perinatal Experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) or HealthStream BLS (HS-BLS): Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required within 6 months of hire Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (IFM): Required within 6 months of hire Basic Fetal Monitoring: Required within 3 months of hire Advanced Fetal Monitoring: Required within 1 year of hire Other Certifications: Perinatal/Obstetrics experience preferred Advanced Fetal Monitoring: Preferred within 1 year of hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Preferred Key Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of labor and delivery processes, maternal and fetal health, and postpartum care Proficiency in the use of fetal heart monitoring, electronic medical records (EMR), and other patient care technologies Ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, including fetal distress and maternal complications Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate, listen, and provide emotional support to patients and families Demonstrated competency in IV medication administration and labor-related pain management Strong team player who collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary teams Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, making quick and informed decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and baby &D
