Job Title: RN - Stepdown Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Clinical Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a Stepdown unit. As an RN, you will be responsible for managing and providing care for a designated group of patients. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, utilizing your critical thinking and nursing expertise to ensure the highest standards of care. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Care: Deliver patient care utilizing Relationship-Centered Care principles and nursing theory/research. Assess and evaluate patient care needs while applying evidence-based practices. Collaborate with the healthcare team to create, implement, and assess care plans. Educate patients and caregivers about their care plan, health promotion, and disease prevention. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Manage assignments and coordinate care effectively to ensure smooth patient throughput. Patient Experience: Role model Mount Sinai Relationship-Centered Care practices including purposeful hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and patient communication. Foster a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, addressing concerns with empathy and compassion. Support patients through transitions in care, ensuring a positive and seamless experience. Quality and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and demonstrate clinical skills that support high-quality patient outcomes. Contribute to quality improvement projects and evidence-based nursing practices. Identify and address any potential safety hazards, escalating them as needed. Support compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards. Operations: Perform charge nurse duties as assigned. Coordinate with clinical leadership to ensure appropriate inventory levels for patient care needs. Support patient care teams with resource management and cost-effective approaches. Professional Development: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment. Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, advancing clinical competence, and professional development. Contribute to nursing practice councils and unit initiatives to improve care standards. Qualifications: Licensing: Current New York State RN License Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience in a cardiology, tele, or VAD setting At least 1 year of travel experience (for Travel positions, not required for Per Diem positions) EPIC experience highly preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Associate degree in Nursing considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program Certifications: BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) RN License (Active) Skills: Proficiency in patient care coordination and nursing documentation Ability to perform charge nurse duties and manage care effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration Pride Health offers eligible employee's comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto ,home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
