Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Medical Surgical 6S Medicine 48's

Shift: Nights, 6:45p-7:15a, 12x4, 48hrs per week, will accept 36hrs, EOW

Length: 13 weeks

Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift

Requirements:
  • NC License
  • 1 Year Experience
  • BLS
  • Skills: Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac
  • Chemotherapy administration certification is required
  • CPI, Charge nurse experience, OCN preferred

Other Details:

  • Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert.
  • Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
  • Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers
  • Locals Accepted
  • Target Ratios: 1:6-7
  • Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.

JOB DETAILS:

Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history and occasional Chemotherapy administration

Target Ratios: 1:6-7

Shift: NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays.

Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.

Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.

Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection.

AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips,

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42.

During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher.

UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.

UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts)

SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white.

INTERNAL NOTES

Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty
