JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Basic Radiopharmacy Skills Quality control and basic instrument calibration of radiopharmacy equipment Receipt and storage of radiopharmaceuticals Preparation of basic radiopharmaceutical kits Administration of radiopharmaceuticals with accurate documentation Monitoring, wipe testing and decontamination according to proper technique General Nuclear Medicine Imaging and Computer processing. Quality control and basic instrument calibration of gamma cameras Planar Dynamic Whole Body SPECT Assume on-call (after hours) responsibilities. Moderate Complexity Testing (Wet Lab) Proper specimen handling Record maintenance Quality control of equipment Other Duties/Skill Sets Sound understanding of anatomical positioning Demonstrates the ability to analyze difficult situations, react properly and interact effectively with the departments medical, technical and clerical staff Demonstrates commitment to service excellence and problem ownership Manages and communicates confidential patient information In strict conformance with departmental and SMCSR HlPAA policy Good oral and written communication skills Assist with patient/procedure scheduling Explains nature of exam to patients to ensure cooperation Assists in the coordination of staff scheduling. Responsible for routine and modified procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning, human physiology, and equipment for selection and modification of technical factors to produce optimum results Acts as team leader/coordinator Instructs technologists in the use of equipment and procedures when necessary Assists in the development, implementation and revision of procedures with regular updates in the procedure manual EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Other: Completion of a nuclear medicine technologist training program OR Other: Completion of radiologic technologist training program with NMTCB or ARRT(N). CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE ARRT - Radiography - American Register of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire OR NMT-Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Upon Hire BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider within 60 Days of hire RHN-Radiologic Health Nuclear Medicine (Department of Public Health) (required if working in California) PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: One year experience in an acute care hospital is preferred, which may include clinical hours during technologist training program. 3-5 years clinical nuclear medicine experience.
