We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Tech with 2 years of recent MRI experience in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have significant experience using newer GE scanner platforms and cardiac MRI experience is highly desirable. Pediatric experience is a plus. You will be responsible for performing various MRI procedures on both pediatric and adult critically ill patients, with a focus on high throughput and patient safety. This position requires someone who can work independently and handle a busy workload, performing multiple procedures per shift.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MRI Procedures: Independently perform MRI scans on both pediatric and adult patients, including neurological, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic studies.
  • Patient Care: Provide safe and efficient care to critically ill patients, ensuring comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work alongside another MRI technologist or an Imaging Assistant to manage patient throughput and ensure efficient and timely completion of MRI studies.
  • Equipment Handling: Operate GE MRI scanners, ensuring proper use of the equipment and adherence to safety standards.
  • Documentation and EMR: Document all procedures accurately and maintain patient records. EPIC experience is preferred for documentation.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow safety procedures to minimize risk, ensuring both patient and technologist safety during imaging procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of recent MRI experience in an acute care setting.
  • GE Scanner Platforms: Significant experience with newer GE MRI scanner platforms is required.
  • Cardiac MRI: Experience with cardiac MRI procedures is highly desirable.
  • Pediatric MRI Experience: Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • ARRT (R) or ARMRIT required.
    • ARRT (MR) Registry preferred.
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or MRI accredited program.
  • Safety Sensitive: This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple procedures per shift.
  • High level of technical proficiency with MRI equipment and a strong focus on patient care and throughput.
