Job Details - Job Summary: Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs a variety of technical MRI procedures that require minimum independent magnetic pulses for the diagnosis of disease in human.
- Essential Job Functions: -Prepares and performs MRI procedures compliance with department standards with a minimum of 99% accuracy. Regularly updates knowledge of technologists' regulations appropriate to the ages of Patients served. -Schedule appropriate amount of time for each patient, regularly reviews the requisition received during the shift, and schedule properly throughout the shift. -Prepares all opaque contrast media used in various examinations with an accuracy rate of 100%. -Processes images within 30 minutes of the completion of the examination. -Translates physician's orders involving technical-surgical procedures into appropriate radiographic procedures with a minimum accuracy rate of 99%. -Maintains patient logs and equipment down time records. -Works closely with radiologist to develop imaging proto to achieve optimum imaging studies. -As charge technologists, assume responsibility and prepares reports and work activities and distributes to supervisor. -Follow the on all "stat" and "emergency" studies as requested. -Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area, observing all prescribed safety and hygienic procedures established, to avoid possible injuries, exposure and contamination. -Responsible for maintaining a productivity level within 20% of the FTE monthly average for that modality, which is publicly posted. Exception: Low-volume shifts (nights). -Ensures delivery of excellent customer service resulting in positive and improving patient satisfaction scores for department and Medical Center. -Monitors inventory levels and supplies throughout the department and notifies supervisor of replacement needs with a minimum accuracy rate of 95%. -Charge all patient exams on an as needed basis. -Transports patients safely, on the proper transportation device both to and from the department and other designated areas as needed. -Identifies and trouble shoots all machine malfunctions and reports to senior technologist on supervision. -Continuously ensures that all charges are properly recorded. -Keeps work area clean and tidy at all times to prevent any unnecessary injuries to other workers and patients. -Assists patients and families throughout stay. -Assists with the duties of any absentee employee within the MRI area. -Cross trains in other areas if applicable. -Other duties and/or projects as assigned. -Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Job Requirements - Minimum 1 year prior experience as a licensed MRI Tech required.
- Ability to professionally and effectively communicate information to patients required.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks required.
