Job Title: Clinical Lab Technologist Blood Bank
Department: Blood Bank
Standard shift: Evenings
Weekly schedule: 5x8
Schedule Notes: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM - alternating weekends - 1 hour break each day - Weekends/Holidays required
Description:
The ideal candidate will perform complex blood bank testing, including blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and compatibility testing, to ensure safe and effective transfusions.
This role requires precision, adherence to laboratory protocols, and a strong commitment to patient safety. Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
Completion of an accredited Clinical Laboratory Technologist program Licensing/Certification:
Active New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or eligibility to obtain
American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred
Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification (preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred) Experience:
At least 1 yr. experience (Blood Bank)
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a blood bank or transfusion service laboratory
