    Job Details
  • Med/Surge Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles.
  • Responsibilities include consulting and coordinating with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Preparing and administering prescribed medications and reporting adverse reactions.
  • Educating patients on surgical procedures.
  • Recording patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitoring and adjusting specialized equipment used on patients, and interpreting and recording electronic displays.
  • Initiating corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
  • Providing bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery patients.
  • Initiating patient education plan as prescribed by physician and teaching patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury.
  • Changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs.
  • Preparing equipment and aiding physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Responding to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol.
  • Participating in discharge planning.
  • Utilizing time management skills.
  • Recording all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
  • Performing other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
    Job Requirements
  • Must have Wyoming RN license (must be attached to resume).
  • Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (must be attached to submission).
