    Job Details
  • Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
  • Evaluate patient's response and report to responsible provider to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including vital signs, mini treatments/procedures, prevention services, pre-visit planning and post visit follow up, medication refills per protocol for existing treatment plans.
  • Promote, advocate and collaborate to protect the health, safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education assessing health literacy, barriers to learning readiness, needs, and ability; provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness; encourage patient engagement using motivational interviewing and evidence based self-management support protocols.
  • Aid in coordination of patient plan of care to ensure efficient patient flow through the clinic.
  • Provide relationship-based care respecting cultural differences and diversity.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by taking an active role in patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Effectively use time, personnel, equipment and supplies to provide high quality, cost effective patient care.
  • Serve as professional role model demonstrating ethical/legal/professionalism aligned with system Standards of Behavior.
  • Manage resources and patient flow by identifying community resources to support wellness with individualized patient needs.
  • Use standards of care, policies/procedures and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
  • Function effectively within inter-professional teams fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care team activities supporting patient's unity of body, mind and spirit.
  • Precept and mentor new staff or medical assistant students as needed.
  • Ensure adequate levels of supplies are available for clinic operations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Seek learning opportunities and continuing education to advance skill set and maintain competence.
  • Maintain professional records evidencing competency and lifelong learning.
    Job Requirements
  • Successful completion of all Medical Assistant Core Skills.
  • Successful completion of additional competencies specialty specific as defined within the Scope of Practice for Medical Assistants.
  • Successful completion of assigned/required courses in online learning platform.
  • Maintain good standing as an associate.
    Additional Details
  • Float Requirements: Floating may be required to any CommonSpirit location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or CommonSpirit-identified float zone.
  • Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements (including skill set) in accordance with CommonSpirit policy.
