'Job Summary:The Infection Preventionist performs under the direct supervision of the Director of Quality Management. The primary responsibility is to assure that policies and procedures are developed and implemented to prevent and control infections. The Infection Preventionist has the oversight authority for cooperating with departments in performance improvement activities. Other responsibilities include surveillance, analysis, reporting, and recording as well as setting standards and evaluating compliance for practices that are associated with the prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections. Collaborates with clinical and non-clinical leaders and managers to implement prevention and control measures. Employsorganizational strategies in a balanced approach that produces meaningful contributions to each element of the Formula for Success. Requires the promotion and adherence to the organization's established Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, andvisitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Performs other duties as assigned by the QM Director. Peformance Expectations: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of current regulatory standards and requirements. Demonstrates ability to analyze IP data and identify improvement opportunities Demonstrates ability to conduct compliance rounds to monitor compliance and provide feedback to managers. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with managers and staff.
