  • Experience required: PIV starts, port access/de-access, NG tubes, chest tube care, foley catheters, wound care, care of the patient with PICC lines, care of the patient with venous access ports.

  • Floating will be required
  • 48hr weekly guarantees will be considered
  • Blocked scheduling requests will be considered but may not be guaranteed
  • Max amount of RTO: 1 week
  • Scrub color = Any solid color
    Unit Specific Information
  • Experience required: PIV starts, port access/de-access, NG tubes, chest tube care, foley catheters, wound care, care of the patient with PICC lines, care of the patient with venous access ports.
    Additional Details
  • EMR = MedHost
  • Scope of work: Primarily adult and geriatric patients. Occasionally a pediatric patient that requires IV fluid, antibiotics, or a little oxygen support.
  • Primary diagnoses include atrial fib, CHF, COPD, DM, Pneumonia, sepsis, post surgical patients (hip and knee ortho, cholycystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repairs, etc.).
  • We also care for Observation patients and swing bed patients on our Med/surg unit.
  • Non titrateable IV medications are also given on med/surg.
  • We utilize LPNs to the fullest scope of their license in the State of Missouri. RNs do supervise LPNs.
  • We are a teaching facility so frequently have nursing students, medical students, interns and residents on the med/surg unit.
  • All nurses in this facility are required to float when needed and perform tasks on unit floated to.
  • Agency and permanent staff go into the same float rotation.
  • We do utilize patient care techs.
  • MedHost is the EMR.
  • Omnicell is the Medication Administration Cabinet.
  • We are designated as a Level III trauma center, Acute Ready Stroke Center and a chest pain/STEMI center.
