Job Details - Assessment skills across Pediatric to Geriatric patients with competent knowledge of growth and development stages.
- Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments.
- Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides appropriate nursing care to the unit's population.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation following guidelines.
- Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Responds professionally and courteously to patients, families, and co-workers, promoting a cooperative care environment.
- Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and patient identification.
- Demonstrates knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients.
- Individualizes patient care according to procedure and anesthesia type across care continuum.
- Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedures and instructions.
- Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and changes in condition.
- Assesses patient understanding of surgical procedures and provides education pre- and post-operation.
- Supports completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness based on surgery, age, and health.
- Physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety/OMS.
Job Requirements - 1 year nursing experience.
- BLS certification required.
- RN License required in New Jersey.
Unit Specific Information - Unit involves medical/surgical and perioperative care.
- Knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, and equipment required.
- Responsibilities include pre-operative and postoperative patient education and assessment.
- Supports Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes.
