Certification Details - BLS
Job Details - A hospital in WV is looking for experienced RN's for Float positions to cover Ortho units.
- The ideal travelers have MS/Tele experience as well as low level Ortho experience.
- EPIC is required as well as WV or compact license.
Job Requirements - BLS certification required.
- WV or compact nursing license required.
Schedule Information - 12 hour shifts 7a - 7p; 7p - 7a
- Every-other-weekend. Sat/Sun for both Days/Nights
- Work in the holiday rotation schedule with perm staff.
Unit Specific Information - Medsurg 5S
- Ratios: Mainly 1:5-6 for both days & nights on most units (once or twice a month could have 7 patients toward the end of the shift). Depends on acuity of patients.
- EMR: EPIC
- Weekend Requirement: Every-other-weekend. Sat/Sun for both Days/Nights
- Holidays: Work in the holiday rotation schedule with perm staff
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Tele: Phillips - Most units have monitor techs but RN's must be able to read & interpret strips
- RT 24/7: CPAP & BiPap only - RT manages
- Vents: Some units could have BiPAP or CPAP - RT Manages
- IV Team: IV Team available house-wide until 10 pm M-F & until 3:30 pm on the weekends
- Pharmacy 24/7: In-house pharmacy 24/7 & use Accudose
- Floor specific orientation: 1-2 Shifts with a preceptor
- Additional Notes: Very traveler friendly.
Additional Details - 50 mile radius rule - ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF CANDIDATE'S UNEXPIRED DRIVER'S LICENSE
- Charge Nurse: Yes - Every unit has a charge nurse. Day charge does not take patients, Night charge does take patients
- Nurse Aides: Yes - all units use CNAs
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CHF, Cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, Ortho, & Oncology (perm staff will administer chemo)
- Manager is open to Traveler requests to work primarily on 6N if requested.
