Key Responsibilities of the Mammography Technologist
Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Conduct mammography exams following established protocols to ensure high-quality, diagnostically accurate images.
Patient Preparation: Explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure patient comfort throughout the process.
Positioning Expertise: Position patients effectively to capture clear and precise breast images.
Equipment Management: Operate and maintain mammography equipment, ensuring functionality and performing routine maintenance checks.
Collaborative Care: Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare providers to review images and provide accurate assessments.
Quality Control: Evaluate images for accuracy and make necessary adjustments for optimal results.
Compliance & Safety: Follow all radiation safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
Requirements for the Mammography Technologist Role:
ARRT Certification (required).
BLS Certification (required).
2+ years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting as a Mammography Technologist.
