Pride Health is actively hiring a Med Tech - Infection Preventionist to support infection prevention and control efforts in Hattiesburg, MS.
Job Summary:
This role focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control policies to ensure compliance with current healthcare standards and improve patient safety. Reporting to the Director of Quality Management, this position plays a key role in data surveillance, reporting, and performance improvement activities across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and implement policies and procedures related to infection prevention.
- Perform surveillance and data analysis of infection trends across the facility.
- Conduct regular compliance rounds and collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments.
- Report infection data and trends to leadership and regulatory agencies as required.
- Provide education to staff on infection control protocols and best practices.
- Monitor sterilization, sanitation, and disinfection procedures throughout the facility.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current regulatory standards (e.g., CDC, CMS, Joint Commission).
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Required)
- Licensure/Certifications:
- BSMT (ASCP) - Required
- CIC (Certification in Infection Control) - Required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of infection prevention experience in an acute care hospital setting (Required)
- Strong foundation in infection surveillance, epidemiology, and education practices
- Effective decision-making and communication skills
Additional Information: Location: Hattiesburg, MS 39401 Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30/5:00 PM No weekends or holidays Contract Length: 13 weeks
