  • The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to patients ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex needs.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.

  • Perform accurate patient assessments per physician instructions and facility policies.
  • Identify changes in patient condition and notify physician appropriately.
  • Knowledge of medical diagnoses and manifestations including clinical and laboratory data interpretation.
  • Develop unique patient care plans involving patient and family.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans accordingly.
  • Provide direct patient care and carry out physician orders.
  • Assist physicians with treatments, medical exams, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations as appropriate.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications, including narcotics.
  • Start, prepare, implement, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids as ordered.
  • Evaluate patient responses to care and therapies.
  • Participate in unit-specific quality assurance and performance improvement projects.
  • Document nursing care accurately, objectively, legibly, and timely.
  • Ensure physician orders are acknowledged by end of shift.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  • Support effective communication and a Just Culture for patient safety.

  • Unit serves patients across all age groups including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Focus on Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialty.
  • Involves care coordination and quality assurance within the unit.
