Job Details
The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to patients ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex needs.
Establishes a helping relationship using a holistic approach.
Ensures quality and appropriateness of care for all age groups including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Performance meets or exceeds expectations with necessary education, training, and relevant experience.
Job Requirements
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.
Knowledge of principles of growth and development through the lifespan.
Ability to assess and interpret patient data to identify needs related to age.
Perform accurate patient assessments per physician instructions and facility policies.
Identify changes in patient condition and notify physician appropriately.
Knowledge of medical diagnoses and manifestations including clinical and laboratory data interpretation.
Develop unique patient care plans involving patient and family.
Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and modify care plans accordingly.
Provide direct patient care and carry out physician orders.
Assist physicians with treatments, medical exams, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations as appropriate.
Administer prescribed treatments and medications, including narcotics.
Start, prepare, implement, monitor, and discontinue IV fluids as ordered.
Evaluate patient responses to care and therapies.
Participate in unit-specific quality assurance and performance improvement projects.
Document nursing care accurately, objectively, legibly, and timely.
Ensure physician orders are acknowledged by end of shift.
Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Support effective communication and a Just Culture for patient safety.
Unit Specific Information
Unit serves patients across all age groups including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
Focus on Labor and Delivery (L&D) specialty.
Involves care coordination and quality assurance within the unit.
Requires knowledge of department policies and procedures related to patient care.
