Job Details
- A hospital in Washington is looking for an experienced L&D RN for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP and WA License.
- Pending license needed to submit. Temp license takes approximately 4 weeks.

Schedule Information
- 12 hour shifts: ,
- Flexibility with scheduling as long as it meets the needs of the department
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Days: Sat and Sun; Nights: Fri and Sat)
- Holidays: rotate in with permanent staff
Unit Specific Information
- C-section experience required: Yes
- Floating: Mother baby and postpartum all one unit. No floating to NICU. No floating outside of the department
- Floor specific orientation: An 8 hour day for compliance with manager, 8 hour EPIC class. x 2-3 12 hour shifts for unit specific orientation
- Common diagnosis/Types of patients: 33 weeks and above. High risk, Preeclampsia, Diabetic, Psych/Social issues, positive elicit substance use
- Must be able to circulate; Nights - . Flexibility with scheduling as long as it meets the needs of the department.
Additional Details
- Medical Solutions auto deducts the 1.75 WA state tax - you are able to re-add that back in.
- Unit: Birthing Center/Mother Baby
- L&D Beds: 34 total beds
- Triage beds: 2 Triage beds
- Postpartum beds: 14 PP
- births per day, per year: 150-180 births a month on average.
- Certifications: RNs- BLS, ACLS, NRP; Prefer intermediate or advanced FHM
- Ratios: Follow AWHONN L&D 1-2 MB 3-4 couplets
- FHM System: Centricity- perinatal
- EMR: EPIC
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Free charge, both shifts.
- Nurse Aides/OB tech: one surgical tech 24/7. There is also a patient care assistant with clerical duties on each shift.
- Call Requirement: No
- Scrub Color: scrubs provided. A locker is provided as well.
- Tele: Yes for PACU after C-section
- Drips: Magnesium, Pitocin and Insulin
- OB/Neonatologist in house: 24/7 in house OBGYN/hospitalist, assists with triaging patients and emergent cases.
- IV Team: yes
- RT 24/7: yes- typically one assigned to family birth
- Pharmacy 24/7: yes
