Location: Albuquerque, NM 87109
Shift: Day Shift, 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Albuquerque, NM. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of two years of ICU experience and be comfortable working in a high acuity setting. First-time travelers with 2-3 years of Progressive ICU experience are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in the ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Manage and monitor critically ill patients with diagnoses such as ARDS, sepsis, CHF, overdose, post-op complications, DKA, GI bleeds, and high-risk surgical cases.
  • Administer dialysis treatments, including CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).
  • Document patient assessments and treatments using the EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • Float as required to other units, including Intermediate Care (IMC) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Rotate weekend shifts as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years' ICU experience required.
  • First-time travelers accepted with 2-3 years of experience in Progressive ICU.

Certifications (Required):
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Certification

Certifications (Preferred):
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Additional Details:
  • Work Schedule Options: 36-hour or 48-hour contracts available.
  • Overtime: Anything over 48 hours will be considered overtime for a 48-hour contract.
  • Call Requirements: No on-call shifts required.
  • Floating: Required as needed.
  • Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends.
  • Mileage Restriction: Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
