Facility: EEG Department - Magic Valley Hospital

General Requirements:
  • Certifications: BLS required; R.EEG T Required . and CLTM (Certified in Long Term Monitoring) preferred.
  • Required Certifications
    BLS, Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEGT.) Verification
    - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have LTM (long term monitoring) experience. Must have experience with all Pediatric age
    levels- Peds make up 1/3 of population- NICU babies and babies a couple of hours old. Must be comfortable in all realms, all age
    groups and all disabilities. Must be comfortable using Collodion Glue- this is what they must use.
  • Experience:
    • Must have Long Term Monitoring (LTM) experience.
    • Proficient with pediatric patients across all age groups-including NICU and newborns just hours old.
    • Comfortable working with patients with various disabilities.
    • Must be skilled in using Collodion Glue for electrode application.
Facility Details:
  • Unit Setup:
    • 1 outpatient EEG room
    • 4 inpatient EEG machines servicing a 250+ bed hospital
    • Department is currently expanding, with more machines and extended services expected.
  • Average Daily Volume: 3-5 scans/studies per tech per day (mix of inpatient and outpatient).
  • Team:
    • Currently staffed with 2 EEG techs, with a plan to grow to 4 as services expand.
    • Lead Tech: Seger Ducharme
    • No assistants utilized
Coverage & Responsibilities:
  • Coverage Area: Techs will cover the entire hospital. Must be prepared to respond to any floor or unit where monitoring is required.
  • Study Types:
    • Epilepsy
    • ICU monitoring
    • Pediatric EEGs
  • Call & Shift Requirements:
    • 8-hour shifts with variable start times (earliest shift begins at 7:00 AM).
    • Shifts may evolve as department expands.
    • Weeknight, weekend, and holiday call coverage required.
    • No standard night shift currently, but call response time is expected within 30 minutes.
Technology & Systems:
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Equipment: Natus EEG systems
Work Environment:
  • Dress Code: No specific color requirement; however, scrubs must be plain (no patterns or neon colors). Grey scrubs are not allowed.
  • Orientation: 1-2 weeks of side-by-side training with a preceptor.
  • Team Culture: Looking for candidates who are adaptable, flexible, team-oriented, and possess strong customer service skills.
Program Expansion Note:

The department is transitioning toward 24/7 service and increasing its number of portable EEG machines. Candidates should be prepared to work in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Radius Rule:

This facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule. To ensure compliance, candidates must provide their permanent address with their submission. Candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be eligible.
