1. General job duties. Types of procedures required.
The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) reports to the Supervisor and performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level requiring limited supervision. The RDCS maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field of (adult / pediatric) cardiac disease and new techniques, as they evolve.
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic cardiac laboratory examinations.
• Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.
• Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of the patient while in the sonographer's care.
• Assist with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation via ICAEL and JCOH.
• Establishes and maintains ethical working relationships and good rapport with all customers (i.e. patients, co-workers, physicians, peers etc.).
Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of cardiac and/or vascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamic principles. Must know 2 dimensional color flow and Doppler wave form analysis. Must understand age-related protocols for the various testing. Must have good communication skills to work with patients and families, physicians, and other healthcare workers.

Epic, Xcelera, Pyxis, Philips Ultrasound Machine, CX-50 Ultrasound Machine
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Adult echocardiology, stress echocardiology, Transesophogeal echo
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
ARDMS, AE
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
Employee will primarily work alone. Call will be required during the weekdays and two weekends a month.

1 ultrasound room with echo capabilities and a portable ultrasound machine with echo capabilities
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
Job ID Radiology/Imaging Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer Requirements: Monday - Friday 8-430. Will be working alone at times. Call is required. 2-3 nights per week (4:30pm-8:00am) and Every third weekend (430 Friday - 8am Sunday) Certifications: CCI or ARDMS
