Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled CVOR Tech First Assistant (FA) to join our Surgical Services team. The candidate will assist in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures and ensure seamless collaboration with the surgical team. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical protocols, sterilization techniques, and adherence to hospital policies.
Requirements:
- Certification: Must hold a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS): American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a CVOR setting.
Work Expectations: - Participate in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care.
- Assist surgeons by handling instruments, controlling bleeding, and suturing during procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control standards.
- Support the surgical team with setup and breakdown of equipment.
Call & Overtime Requirements: - Will take on-call at least two days per week.
- Required to be available for 1-2 weekends every 6-week schedule, depending on facility needs.
- Overtime available based on hospital needs.
Additional Information: - Floating Policy: Facility prioritizes keeping staff in their assigned unit. However, all contract staff must be prepared to float to other qualified units and Prisma Health campuses as required.
- Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions permitted).
